You run one site. Everything you see in BrightBridge is filtered to that site, and the hours you approve are the hours your people get paid for. That makes yours the most consequential click in the whole system.
One location, its people only
Hours and site compliance
Run payroll or change settings
Your account is tied to a single location. Every list, search and report you open is already filtered to it, so you never have to remember to filter — and you can't act on another site's staff by accident.
If a name you expect is missing, it’s almost always because that person’s home location is set to another site. Only the owner can move someone between locations.
BrightBridge assigns every employee a single home location. If someone covers shifts at more than one site, talk to your owner about how those hours should be handled — the platform doesn't split a person across two locations yet.
This is the job. Payroll pays what you approve, so approving is a statement that the hours are true — not an acknowledgement that you've seen them.
Open your timesheets for the current period and pull the latest hours. The clock records punches live; your timesheet shows a snapshot. Pull first, or you'll be reviewing yesterday's picture.
Look for missed clock-outs, shifts that run impossibly long, and anyone with no hours who should have worked. Those three account for most of what goes wrong.
Fix it here, with a note explaining the change. Correcting hours is your job specifically — payroll can't do it for you, by design. The notes are what you'll rely on if the hours are ever questioned.
Approve individually, or use the batch action once you've reviewed everyone. Batch is a time-saver after the review, not a substitute for it.
There's no separate finalize button for your site. Once every person's hours are approved, your location shows as complete to whoever runs payroll. Approve the last row and you're done.
If you re-approve anything after the company's pay period has been finalized, that finalization automatically reverts to draft and whoever runs payroll is told. That's deliberate — it stops payroll going out against numbers that changed underneath. Make the correction you need to, and let them know you've done it.
Work to the deadline on your timesheet screen, not the pay date. Payroll needs time between your approval and the bank cutoff, and late approvals are the most common cause of a delayed payday.
Your team can request time off from their own dashboard, and they can see their schedules there too. Deciding those requests isn't something location managers do inside BrightBridge today — handle approvals the way you do now, outside the system, and keep your own record.
The approval screen exists, but it's held back until we're satisfied a manager can only ever see their own location's requests. We'd rather it be missing than show you someone else's team.
Because approvals happen outside the platform, approved leave doesn’t appear in the hours you review. If someone was off, their timesheet simply shows no hours for those days — add a note so the reason is on the record.
You're closest to your team's paperwork, so the onboarding and compliance work at your site is yours.
A new employee arrives with a checklist already built for them. Work through it together in their first week: I-9 documents, certifications, handbook acknowledgements. They stay in onboarding until the required items are done, and become active once they are — which is what lets them start on the clock.
Your compliance list shows what’s expiring and when. Start renewals early; fingerprinting and background checks take longer than anyone plans for. Upload the new document with its expiry date and the item resets itself.
| When | Do this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Scan yesterday’s punches | A missed clock-out is trivial to fix the next morning and painful on deadline day |
| Weekly | Check the compliance list | Renewals have lead times |
| Weekly | Chase outstanding onboarding tasks | Incomplete onboarding keeps a new hire off the clock |
| End of period | Pull, review, correct, approve | This is what payroll pays against |
